Before & After

Last month my Tag Sale husband and I hiked up to our town common for the annual Church tag sale. While it only about a mile walk, I was concerned that we would find more than we could carry home on our own. I found this Silverware chest for $5.00 the left leg was off. Now my tag sale husband has many similarities to my real husband, namely the eye roll thing. I said " trust me, it will be amazing.  We managed to get our treasures home. Me this table, a gorgeous turquoise pot, a pair of Steve Madden pumps.

Bill bought a projector screen. Our total costs $11.00. We managed to to get our treasure home all the while doing our best Steve Martin in the Jerk impression. "I don't need anything but this thermos, this pot. You know the skit.

My first task was to remove the lining. I then gave the whole piece a light sanding. I gave it four coats of off white  paint in satin. I used Rustoleum Hammered finish on the knobs. I finished the piece with a mild distressing. I lined the draws with paper that cost 3 times more than the piece.
